Raiders can’t stop Colts, 31-26

The Oakland Raiders hung tough but ultimately fell just a little bit short in a 31-26 loss to the visiting Indianapolis Colts.

Oakland’s defense actually held their own against quarterback Peyton Manning, holding him under 200 yards passing and coming up with two interceptions.

Rookie Jacoby Ford opened up the scoring by returning the opening kickoff for a touchdown, but he wasn’t a factor in the passing game.

For some odd reason, the Raiders did not attack the Colts suspect run defense with their two-headed monster of Darren McFadden and Michael Bush. (Read More…)

Oakland rolls past Denver, 39-23

The host Oakland Raiders used a power running game to to run past the Denver Broncos, 39-23.

Running back Darren McFadden finished with more than 100 yards on the ground and Michael Bush scored twice.

Quarterback Jason Campbell threw for almost 250 yards and a touchdown and also ran for 41 yards.

Wideout Jacoby Ford also had a big game, taking a reverse 70 yards for a touchdown to open up the scoring for Oakland. (Read More…)

Raiders fall to Jaguars, 38-31

The Oakland Raiders coughed up a first half lead and later the game in a 38-31 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Quarterback Jason Campbell threw for 324 yards and two touchdowns in the losing effort. He did not have a turnover.

Running back Darren McFadden was the big star, rushing for 123 yards and two touchdowns.

He was also a big factor in the passing game, catching three passes for 86 yards and a score. (Read More…)

Raiders stun Chargers, 28-13

The Oakland Raiders changed the complexion of the AFC West with a 28-13 win over the San Diego Chargers.

Oakland jumped out to a 14-0 lead by the end of the first quarter and took a 21-3 advantage into the locker room.

The Raiders spent much of the second half running the football, playing defense and avoiding costly turnovers.

The team used a style of power football that overwhelmed the smaller, more finesse Chargers. (Read More…)
