Raiders face easier schedule this season
By Bud L. Ellis
Just from looking at the schedule, the Oakland Raiders have an opportunity to improve on last season’s 5-11 showing.
The National Football League has released the list of every team’s home games and road games. Dates and times will be announced later this spring.
Oakland’s schedule features four games against playoff teams, two coming in the AFC West Division home-and-home with division champion San Diego. The only other home game against a playoff team is a matchup with AFC champion Indianapolis. The only other road contest against a postseason qualifier comes on a trip to NFC West champion Arizona.
The rest of Oakland’s home schedule features games against Denver, Kansas City, Houston, St. Louis, Seattle and Miami. Away from home, the Raiders will travel to Denver, Kansas City, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Arizona, San Francisco and Pittsburgh.
Oakland’s schedule ranks tied for 16th (with Buffalo, Miami and the New York Jets) in the NFL, according to opponents’ winning percentage last season.
