The Oakland Raiders will kick off the 2010 season in Music City, and hope it’s the beginning of a much more pleasing tune as compared to last year.
The National Football League has unveiled game times and dates for the upcoming season. The Raiders, who finished 5-11 in 2009, kick off 2010 with a road game Sept. 12 at Tennessee.
The Raiders welcome in St. Louis for the home opener Sept. 19, then head to NFC West champion Arizona before playing host to a two-game home set against the Houston Texans and the AFC West champion San Diego Chargers.
Two road contests then follow, at San Francisco and at Denver, before Oakland plays two straight at home, vs. Seattle and Kansas City.
The bye week is Nov. 14, followed by the final seven games. Four of those are on the road, beginning Nov. 21 at Pittsburgh. The Raiders play host to Miami the next week, before traveling to San Diego and to Jacksonville.
The home schedule ends with consecutive home games with Denver and AFC champion Indianapolis. Oakland wraps up the regular season at Kansas City on Jan. 2.

Just from looking at the schedule, the Oakland Raiders have an opportunity to improve on last season’s 5-11 showing.
The National Football League has released the list of every team’s home games and road games. Dates and times will be announced later this spring.
Oakland’s schedule features four games against playoff teams, two coming in the AFC West Division home-and-home with division champion San Diego. The only other home game against a playoff team is a matchup with AFC champion Indianapolis. The only other road contest against a postseason qualifier comes on a trip to NFC West champion Arizona.
The rest of Oakland’s home schedule features games against Denver, Kansas City, Houston, St. Louis, Seattle and Miami. Away from home, the Raiders will travel to Denver, Kansas City, Jacksonville, Tennessee, Arizona, San Francisco and Pittsburgh.
Oakland’s schedule ranks tied for 16th (with Buffalo, Miami and the New York Jets) in the NFL, according to opponents’ winning percentage last season.
